It was in the summer of 1957 that I and my twin sister, along with my other sister, a friend of hers, and my mother and father traveled from the Eastern shore of Maryland to visit the Enchanted Forest. We were so excited, except for my older sister, who thought she had outgrown the fairytales. As the day progressed though, even she had a good time, and to this day we talk of that trip often. I remember it as if were yesterday. I have looked at these photos many times over the years and wished the characters and buildings would be restored so other children and adults could enjoy it as much as we did. I have kept a frame with several pictures of us at the forest on my nightstand for all these years. That trip is one of my fondest memories. Even more so, now, that both parents are gone.
